The BennCo Team
Brian Bennett – President
Mr. Bennett has served investors since 1976. After distinguishing himself at EF Hutton and Dean Witter Reynolds, he provided leadership at Boettcher and Company, Inc. for 13 years as Partner and Senior Vice President. In 1991, in order to avoid the inherent ethical conflicts associated with the corporate brokerage model, Bennett chose to become an independent advisor, affiliating with DE Frey & Company, Inc., an independent broker-dealer. Following the March I, 2007 sale of his then broker dealer the United Securities Alliance, he joined The Strategic Financial Alliance (www.thesfa. net) an independent broker-dealer and registered investment adviser based in Atlanta, GA.
In 1998, he formed BennCo Advisors, a registered investment advisor. He maintains an active investment management and financial planning practice.
In addition to investment advisory work, Bennett has served the community as a director and chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, past board member and board cha ir of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas. He is also a current director and past president of the East Colorado Springs Rotary club.
He has served as a member of the vestry of the Chapel of our Saviour Episcopal Church and is currently serving as a trustee of the Colorado Episcopal Foundation chairs the Foundation Investment Committee which oversees $30 million in diocesan and parish funds. For the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, he helped organize and is currently President of the Board of the Cathedral Ridge Camp and Conference Center in Woodland Park, Colorado.
From 1995 to 2016 he served as a member of the Regis University Investment Oversight Committee, supervising the endowment funds of the University.
On the personal side, he and his wife Becky enjoy their 5 grandchildren, their young English Springer Spaniel, pairing wines with Brian’s home cooking and Colorado’s craft beers.
Taylor Willson – Financial Advisor
Taylor joined BennCo Advisors in 2013. He came to the firm with over five years experience beginning with Citi Smith Barney (2008-2009) and Northwestern Mutual Life (2009-2013). He learned valuable lessons during his introduction to the financial markets during one of history's most challenging times in the economy and the financial markets. During his tenure at Northwestern Mutual shifted his focus from investments to helping families and business owners with a variety of risk management products including Life, Disability and Long term care insurance. At BennCo Advisors Taylor is applying his prior experience in an environment where his risk management expertise is complemented by the investment planning and management expertise of the firm.
Taylor is a native of Colorado Springs. After graduating from Cheyenne Mountain high school Taylor obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Arizona. Taylor is an avid sports fan, golfer, and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities. Taylor is an active volunteer, working with The Resource Exchange serving people with developmental disabilities and the Parks and Recreation department as a volunteer youth sports coach.
Leslie Massey – Administrative Assistant
A proud Colorado Springs native, Leslie joined BennCo in July 2019 with over 20 years’ experience in a wide variety of administrative roles. She brings a diverse set of skills and experience which are an ideal complement to the BennCo team. She plays a key supportive role in branding, communications, account administration and client service.
Leslie has one son and two daughters and two grandchildren. She and her family are avid sports fans. Her Great Dane, Boomer, and Thor, a Great Dane Lab mix help Leslie and her family enjoy the amazing outdoor life Colorado offers.
